The midway lights are waiting. The barns are full of hope. The stage is set. And tomorrow… we come home.
For our volunteers, this week has never been just about rides, ribbons, or blue banners. It’s about investing in our community, celebrating West Virginia agriculture, and creating opportunities for the young people who will carry these traditions into the future.
Every fence repaired, every flower planted, every late night, every early morning, and every volunteer hour has been for one reason:
To create a place where memories are made, neighbors become friends, and generations come together.
So whether you’ve been coming for decades or this will be your very first visit, welcome home.

Some traditions are about more than a meal- they’re about the people who bring us together. 🙏
Tonight, our fair family gathered for the Sonny Ball Memorial Dinner, honoring a man who truly embodied the spirit of community. Sonny loved good food, good company, and the simple joy of gathering around the table with friends and neighbors.
It was a privilege to continue this tradition in his memory, sharing laughs, stories, and a meal together, just the way he would have wanted.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special. Sonny’s legacy continues to live on in the fellowship, kindness, and fair family spirit that make the Putnam County Fair feel like home.
